Shared ownership drop-in event

Magna Housing is holding a drop-in event about shared ownership on Monday January 21.

It is being held at Portesham village hall on Monday January 21 at 7pm.

The session is predominately to give extra information about new shared ownership properties available in the village on the Malthouse Meadows develolpment.

Magna has been working closely with the parish council to organise and promote the event.

An independent financial advisor will be on hand to talk to people about affordability and money matters.

The three-bedroom houses have been built by CG Fry & Son.

There are two semi-detached properties available for shared ownership with prices starting at £132,750.

This could work out at £930 per month based on a 40-year mortgage with a 5% deposit for a 45% share plus a monthly rent and service charge.

Applicants must have a local connection and live/work in the West Dorset District Council area although priority will be given to those with a Portesham link.

There’s a video available here with a virtual tour of one of the houses.

Malthouse Meadows is a development of 22 houses, close to the village hall, surgery and King’s Arms pub.
