Home Truths – Dorset report
We’ve drawn up a special Opening Doors ‘Home Truths’ report with the National Housing Federation showing the latest analysis of the property market.
It shows the average house price in Dorset at £326,384 and the annual (mean) house price at £25,657.
That means the average house price is a staggering 13 times the average wage. A buyer of an open market property would need a salary of £74,602 for a 80 per cent mortgage.
For North Dorset the earnings-house price ratio affordability ratio is 12. In West Dorset it is 13 and in Weymouth & Portland it is 10.
