Keys to dream home for Ryan and Kirsty

Ryan and Kirsty Cottrell’s dream has come true with a new home at Sydling St Nicholas through Magna Housing.

The young couple have just moved into their new house on the Broadridge View development.

They previously struggled to get on the property ladder on the open market as prices were out of reach.

Transport manager Ryan and senior care leader Kirsty had been renting in the village and were delighted to be able to stay in the area.

Kirsty said: “Having our new home means security for our family, safety and warmth.

“It means we can stay in the village that we have grown to love. Basically, it means everything to us.

“We have saved and worked so hard. I work 48 hours a week and my husband 70 hours a week to save enough money to buy a house in Sydyling St Nicholas that we never thought we would be able to have, but look at us now – living the dream!”

Ryan and Kirsty have a mortgage with Leeds Building Society which has allowed them to purchase a 75% share of the property and pay rent on the remainder.

They can choose to buy more of the property as they can afford to do so or can sell up and receive 75 per cent of the proceeds.

The couple says the difference between their old, rented property and modern, light and spacious new home is incredible.

Helen Rafferty, sales and marketing manager at Magna Housing, congratulated the couple and was delighted to hand over the keys.
